A Healthier Approach To Caring

Update from Administrator – March 1, 2021

March 1, 2021

Dear Resident, Family Member or Responsible Party,

As always, we hope this letter finds you safe and healthy.

Currently, we do not have any COVID-19 positive residents in our building or any staff members that are at home in quarantine. According to the CDC and DPH guidance, we had to put indoor visitations on hold until we completed a two-week cycle of no positive residents and/or employees. We are hopeful that our indoor visits will begin again later this week.

We have officially completed our COVID-19 vaccine and as we have noted in previous emails, we will continue to take all necessary precautions, including wearing personal protective equipment and conducting regular testing, to ensure the safety of our residents and staff. Unfortunately, we are no longer offering the vaccine at this time, so if you have a loved one in our facility that has received the first vaccine, they will need to receive the second vaccine from the community. It will be the responsibility of the family to schedule the vaccine and provide transportation. If you have any questions, please contact our Infection Control Nurse, Cristine Emerson at 860-444-1175.

Recreation continues to provide daily entertainment for all our residents. This week we had several lucky residents who participated in Chinese New Year’s Bingo. Prizes consisted of lucky money envelopes and fortune cookies. This ambitious crew continues to provide window visits and facetime visits. Please contact them at 860-444-1175 to schedule an appointment.

March is NATIONAL SOCIAL WORK MONTH! So, please take a moment and recognize our amazing team of Social Workers: Mary, Judy, Eva, and Victoria. These are truly special people who do so much and ask for so little.

As always, thank you for your patience and please stay safe and healthy!
