A Healthier Approach To Caring

Update from Administrator – December 5, 2020

December 5, 2020

Dear Resident, Family Member or Responsible Party,

We hope you had a peaceful Thanksgiving holiday.    One silver lining of this past year is that we have all been forced to slow down, take inventory, and scale back on things that once seemed so important.   With vaccines becoming available soon, it appears that we are getting close to the home stretch, but we must stay vigilant.  As you are most likely aware, newly diagnosed Covid-19 infections are currently spiking and the numbers are expected to only increase over the next few weeks.

We have attached a Covid-19 info sheet.  This newsletter/fact sheet has some basic information on visitations, COVID vaccines and explains the 3 W’s of COVID prevention.    Please keep in mind indoor visitation is only permissible in buildings that have been “COVID free” for at least 2 consecutive weeks.   Unfortunately, we are still unable to provide indoor visitation at this time.

Currently, we have 4 residents in house who are COVID positive. A total of 6 recent COVID recovered residents, 5 of which were residents who returned to us from Westfield and one resident who passed away at the hospital. 4 employees who tested positive for the virus are home on quarantine at this time.    As we have noted in the past, if your loved one has had contact with any residents or staff members who test positive for the virus, you will receive a phone call from someone on our clinical staff.

We will not let COVID interfere with the holiday spirt at Bayview. Christmas carols are playing on the Bayview TV channel and our recreation team will be conducting “Polar Express” weekly.  They will be visiting and distributing small gifts to our residents while dressing up as characters from “A Christmas Story” and “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer”.   Check our Facebook page to see photos.    While you are visiting our Facebook page, you can enter in our December Facebook contest.   Everyone who posts pictures of their holiday decorations, will get a chance to win one of 3 prizes in a drawing.   The drawing will be on December 30th.   We are looking forward to seeing everyone’s festive decorations.  Encourage your family and friends to enter too, the more the merrier!

If you plan on dropping off gifts for your loved ones, there will be scheduled dates for the weeks of December 14th and the 21st.  We will have more information about that in our next email blast.  Until then, please be well and stay safe and healthy.
