Dear Resident, Family Member or Responsible Party,
Today we are beginning the weekly employee COVID-19 testing. We are also re-testing all residents who previously tested negative for virus. You will receive email notification with the test results as soon as they are available. This is a precautionary measure which has been set up to avert a COVID 19 outbreak in Connecticut’s long-term care communities. Our numbers as of this morning are:
- 36 COVID-19 recovered residents
- 0 COVID-19 pending residents
- 0 COVID-19 positive residents
- 0 COVID-19 positive employees
Please find the attached letter from the Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program at the Department of Public Health. This letter explains CMS recommendations and new guidance offered to long-term care communities based on resident and staff testing, as well as the grouping of residents and test results.
As we mentioned in last week’s letter, the recreation team has been very busy with FaceTime, window, and perimeter visits. Please remember these visits must be pre-scheduled. You can call 860-444-1175 ext-1719 or email recreation@bayviewhcc.com to make an appointment. Please keep in mind that with unpredictable summer weather producing pop-up thunderstorms, we might have to cancel/reschedule perimeter visits for safety reasons.
