Dear Resident, Family Member or Responsible Party,
As always, we hope this email finds you safe and healthy. June 18th began National Certified Nurse’s Aide Week. There are not enough words to describe what these individuals do for our residents by keeping them safe, healthy, and happy. There are many jobs that they could choose from, but instead, they have chosen this profession due to their compassion and loyalty to healthcare. So, during this week and beyond, remember to thank a CNA whenever you have the opportunity. Most of their work and caring go unnoticed but their pride is in their residents. To all CNA’s out there keep up the good work and we thank you for your efforts.
As we mentioned in the last Town Hall call, we have resumed admissions and are only admitting non-COVID-19 patients at this time. All new admissions, even though they have had a negative COVID-19 test 24 hours prior to admission into our facility, are quarantined for 14 days. Also, as precautionary effort, DPH has instructed all nursing facilities to continually test staff and residents for COVID-19. We will be re-testing our residents this week and anticipate testing staff in the very near future.
We are happy to report that currently, our numbers are:
- 36 COVID-19 recovered residents
- 0 COVID-19 positive residents
- 0 COVID-19 pending residents
- 0 COVID-19 positive employees
The recreation team has been very busy with FaceTime, window, and perimeter visits. Please remember that all these visits must be pre-scheduled. You can call 860-444-1175 ext-1719 or email recreation@bayviewhcc.com to make an appointment.
Thank you and please stay safe and healthy! Although the weather outside is becoming warmer and sunnier each day, it is important to remember that it is still necessary to be cautious and aware that the risks of COVID-19 are still present.
