Update from Administrator – December 19, 2020
December 19, 2020
Dear Resident, Family Member or Responsible Party,
Although we are unable to celebrate the holidays with the residents as we usually do, our recreation team has been filling the halls with the holiday spirit. Check our Facebook page to see photos of the polar express delivering angels lovingly made by our own Nurse Lori and holiday cards from the students at Waterford High School. There is still plenty of time to enter our December Facebook contest. Post pictures of your holiday decorations and you will get a chance to win one of 3 prizes in a drawing. We are looking forward to seeing everyone’s festive decorations. Encourage your family and friends to enter too, the more the merrier! If you are planning on dropping off gifts to your loved ones, we ask that you try to do so during the allotted holiday gift drop off schedule. Monday, December 21st through Wednesday, the 23rd from 10-12 and 1-3. Someone from recreation will be available to meet you at the front door. If you are unable to make it during those allotted times, please call recreation (860-444-1175 x 1719) to make another arrangement.
Currently, we have 4 residents at Bayview, one positive resident at the hospital and 6 employees who are quarantining at home. As we have noted in the past, if your loved one has had contact with any residents or staff members who test positive for the virus, you will receive a phone call from someone on our clinical staff.
We are reminding our staff to not only practice safeguards against COVID in our center, but to be vigilant outside of our center and share these practices with their friends and loved ones. We still ask you to do your part while in your community and PLEASE wear your mask, wash your hands, and watch your distance. Also, please promote these very simple precautions with your extended family and friends.
We sent out a very important email with vaccine information earlier in the week. Don’t worry if you missed it, I have attached a copy to this email. With 2020 finally coming to a close, we are looking forward to the new year and the possibility of returning to some resemblance of our pre-COVID life.
We hope you have a happy and healthy holiday season.
~ From all of us at Bayview Health Care
